Medical Disclaimer

Medical disclaimer &
terms of clinical use

🚨 EMERGENCY: If you are dealing with a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately. Do not rely on any website or calculator in a life-threatening situation where time is critical and direct clinical assessment is required.

⚕️ Not a substitute for clinical judgement

The calculators, dosing tools, scoring systems, and clinical decision support content provided on MedScopeHub ("the Tools") are intended as reference aids to support — not replace — the clinical judgement of qualified healthcare professionals.

Every patient is unique. Clinical decisions must account for individual patient factors including but not limited to: comorbidities, concurrent medications, allergies, renal and hepatic function, nutritional status, pregnancy, local drug availability, institutional protocols, and the clinician's direct assessment of the patient.

No calculator, algorithm, or decision support tool — however well-designed — can capture the full complexity of an individual clinical encounter. The Tools are one input among many. Final clinical decisions are always the responsibility of the treating clinician.

🏥 For qualified professionals only

MedScopeHub tools are designed exclusively for use by qualified, registered healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, clinical officers, and other credentialled clinicians working within a clinical care setting.

These tools are not intended for use by members of the general public for self-diagnosis, self-treatment, or the diagnosis or treatment of family members or others. Lay users accessing these tools should seek qualified medical care from a registered healthcare professional.

🚫 No doctor-patient relationship

Use of MedScopeHub does not create a doctor-patient relationship, a healthcare provider-patient relationship, or any other professional relationship between MedScopeHub, its authors, or its medical reviewers and any user or patient.

MedScopeHub does not provide individual medical advice, individual diagnosis, or individual treatment recommendations. The Tools provide general reference information based on published guidelines and are not tailored to any specific patient.

📅 Accuracy and currency of information

We make every reasonable effort to ensure that the clinical information in our Tools is accurate, current, and aligned with the most recent published guidelines at the time of each tool's last review date.

However, clinical guidelines change. Drug doses are revised. New evidence emerges. MedScopeHub cannot guarantee that all content is current at the time of your use. Each tool displays its guideline version and last review date. Users are responsible for verifying doses and protocols against their institution's current approved guidelines and formularies before acting on any information provided by MedScopeHub.

If you identify a discrepancy between our Tools and a current guideline, please report it immediately to medscopehub@gmail.com.

⚖️ Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MedScopeHub, its founders, authors, medical reviewers, employees, and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to:

  • Your use of or reliance on the Tools
  • Any error, omission, or inaccuracy in the Tools
  • Any clinical decision made on the basis of the Tools
  • Any patient outcome resulting from use of the Tools
  • Inability to access the Tools due to technical issues

By using MedScopeHub, you acknowledge that you have read this disclaimer, understand it, and agree to its terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Tools.

🚨 Emergency situations

MedScopeHub tools are not appropriate as the sole decision-making resource in acute emergencies. In life-threatening situations, clinicians must rely on direct patient assessment, senior clinical support, institutional protocols, and direct communication with specialists.

Calculator outputs should be verified against physical assessment findings and clinical context in all emergency settings. If a calculated dose seems inconsistent with your clinical assessment of the patient, do not administer it without senior review.

In any genuine medical emergency, the immediate priority is direct patient care, appropriate resuscitation, and rapid escalation — not a website.

🌍 Jurisdiction and governing law

This disclaimer and your use of MedScopeHub is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from the use of MedScopeHub shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.

Users accessing MedScopeHub from other jurisdictions do so at their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws and professional regulatory requirements.

✅ Acceptance of this disclaimer

By accessing and using MedScopeHub, you confirm that:

  • You are a qualified, registered healthcare professional
  • You understand that these Tools support but do not replace clinical judgement
  • You will verify all doses and protocols against current approved guidelines before acting on them
  • You accept the limitations of liability described above
  • You will report any identified errors or discrepancies to medscopehub@gmail.com
